Fuel/Water Separator Filter Test Stand
Emprise is currently offering a Testand™ designed Fuel/ Water Separator Test Stand with On-Line Titration. The test stand is 75% complete exclusive of the software and manual. This allows for modifications according to the clients specifications and updated SAE and/or ISO specifications.
This computerized test system is designed to perform SAE J1839 Coarse Droplet Water/Fuel Separation Testing August 97; SAE J1488 Emulsified Water/Fuel Separation Testing August 97; and ISO/CD 16332, 2005-01-05
Computer Operation
- PC based system, Lab View for Windows
- System will handle the test parameter setup, cooling/heating control, flow control, pressure side pump, suction side pump, water injection and Fullers Earth filter conditioning
- System permits unattended, continuous operation
- System safety interlocks will be displayed on monitor
- Measurements in real time; SI or English Units
- Statistical reports in Excel; printouts available for all test parameters, data acquisition and data analysis
Hydraulic System
- System flow controlled by a variable speed drive; flow range— 5.71 to 25.0 (0.415—6.61 GPM) utilizing #2 fuel oil at 80°Fand 30 PSA
- Turbine flow meter—range 1.5—25.0 LPM (0.396—6.61 GPM) 1% accuracy
- Absolute fuel water separator and a coalescer is located after the filter being tested
- Fuller’s earth clay filter removes resinous contaminants or additives from test fluid
- Temperature is maintained by a heater and a water cooled tube in a shell heat exchanger—min. 73°F to max. 100°F
- Differential pressure transducer to measure pressure across the unit— range 0 — 34.5 kPa (0-139IN. H2O)
Water Injection System
- Operator selectable
- Turbine flow meter provides feedback to control the water flow
- Coarse water droplet manifolds provided for entire flow range of the system
- Deionizer filter system to supply water for testing
Sampling System/Filter Draining
- On-line titration
- SAE automatic sample extraction and dispensing
- User selected intervals
- Manual syringe samples can be performed
Utilities
- Electrical: 208 VAC, 60 HZ, 3 PH, 30 AMPS
- Compressed air: 40 PSI at 1 CFM
- Cooling Water: 2-3 GPM at 65°F at line pressure
- Drain to accommodate the clean water flow
