Automotive Filter Test Stands

Emprise’s new Pressure Impulse Fatigue Test Stand makes use of modern hydraulic control valve technology to provide a test stand that is simple to operate, accurate, and flexible. The Impulse Test Stand is designed to test spin-on and cartridge type filter assemblies for their resistance to fatigue failure within their envelopes. Test stand design is based on performing the SAE HS-806 and ISO 4548-5 pressure waveforms but other waveforms are easily run as well.
Particle counting instruments are available as an option on most Testand filter test systems. The particle counting instruments can be stand-alone or integrated into the test stand’s data acquisition and controls. Particle counting analysis is used to augment gravimetric test methods.
Test dust is very abrasive and injection nozzles wear with normal use. Nozzles are often not inspected or neglected until their performance deteriorates to the point affecting data or they stop working altogether. Emprise offers replacement dust injection nozzles per ISO 5011:2014(E) as part of our Testand product line of filter test equipment.
The 5100 Series is a fully automated air filter test system for designed for both product development and quality audit using gravimetric test methods. The modular design allows for the equipment to be arranged to fit your particular facility. Options allow you to spec a system to meet your specific needs.
Most Testand filter test systems can be used to test filter media samples. An optional media sample fixture supports the media. Testand also offers systems specifically for media testing.
The Model 12230 performs fully automated and unattended testing of fuel/water separators used on diesel engines per IS0 16332, SAE J1488 and SAE J1839. The system features a “patent pending” automatic sampling, sonication and titrating system with high accuracy and repeatability.
The Impulse Stand is designed to test spin-on filter assemblies for their resistance to fatigue failure within their envelopes. This method complies with SAE HS806 2001 Edition, Section 13.2. Six independent test filter heads test one spin on filter each. If one filter should fail the other filters will continue to run maintaining the same waveform by using a back up filter.
